Scrollin' down through Instagram
until I see your face -
and there it is, your latest post
Of you and your recent game.
I wonder why I do this
to myself all the time;
I know I should delete you,
but you're always on my mind....
Are you still creepin' on me?
Or am I wishful thinkin'?
I hear you're happy as can be
while I'm alone and drinkin'.
Wish I could move on like you
and start a whole new life.
But I don't know what to do
no matter how much I try...
You used to post pictures of us
laughing and hanging out -
My favorite one even read
"This is what love's all about."
We got a lot of comments
and half-a-dozen 'likes'.
But now I sit here all alone
while she's with you tonight...
Are you still creepin' on me?
Or am I wishful thinkin'?
I hear you're happy as can be
while I'm alone and drinkin'.
Wish I could move on like you
and start a whole new life.
But I don't know what to do
no matter how much I try...
What happened to that couple
everyone looked for pictures of?
That boy and girl who had it all
and seemed madly in love?
I wish I could turn back time
and do things differently -
I'd pay attention next time 'round
of her stealing you from me...
Are you still creepin' on me?
Or am I wishful thinkin'?
I hear you're happy as can be
while I'm alone and drinkin'.
Wish I could move on like you
and start a whole new life.
But I don't know what to do
no matter how much I try...

My Girl.
She waits around on me all week
To take her for a ride
She can’t wait for me to turn her on
And I can’t wait to get inside
I whisper that I love her
That she’s always mine to keep
And as I take her top off
I slowly climb up in my….
*JEEP* - I love it
when she’s clean
And
even when she’s dirty
She
loves me to drive her ‘round
And we
ain’t in no big hurry
She
loves to play my music loud
And
ride down by the creek
We have fun ‘til the sun goes down
Man, I
sho’ love my Jeep…
No doubt my girl’s the finest
My friends wish she was theirs
Whenever I bring her around
They always stop and stare
And when they get too close
And even start to creep
I always have to remind ‘em
Keep your damn hands off my…

And
even when she’s dirty
She
loves me to ride her ‘round
And we

She
loves to play my music loud
And
ride down by the creek
We have
fun ‘til the sun goes down
Man, I
sho’ love my Jeep…
Sometimes when we go out
We might get caught in rain
But that’s ok, ‘cause like Luke says
“Rain is a good thang”
I always get her home safely
And put her right to sleep
My baby and I have some good times
Man, I sho’ love my…

Prove To Me
To you I was a nobody
A 'player' trying to get by
I couldn't get your attention
Wasn't your type of guy
But now that I make money
Everyone knows who I am
I see the poses with your girls
Cause you tag me on Instagram...
Prove to me you're different
And not just playing games
How do I know you love me
And not just after fame?
I gotta know it's me you want
And not just the big spotlight
Prove to me that you belong
Right here with me tonight.
You text me that you need me
"Come see me when you're through."
I tell you I can't hurry back
There are shows I have to do
You send me a pic that night
saying "Here's what's waiting for you."
And yeah, girl, you look sexier than hell
But my heart says play it cool...
Prove to me you're different
And not just playing games
How do I know you love me
And not just after fame?
I gotta know it's me you want
And not the big spotlight
Prove to me that you belong
Right here with me tonight.
You say you wouldn't lie to me
to you I am the world
I want so bad to believe you
Could you be that girl?
You want to be that girl?
How bad do you want me, girl?
Prove to me you're different
And not just playing games
How do I know you love me
And not after my fame?
I gotta know it's me you want
And not the big spotlight
Prove to me that you belong
Right here in my bed tonight....
A 'player' trying to get by

One and Only
She slumps at her desk each day
Wondering how to make life better
Daydreaming of places far away
Wishing someone would come save her...
How did I end up so lonely?
He promised I'd be his one and only
He thinks I have no clue
That she's his one and only, too.
She always dreads the night
Awake in bed wondering why
He thinks everything is alright
And sleeps so good in his lies
How did I end up so lonely?
He promised I'd be his one and only
And he thinks I have no clue
That she's his one and only, too.
One morning she'd had enough
Decided to make her life her own
Yeah, she knew that it'd be tough
But still left a note by the phone...
'You promised to love me forever
But you and I both know
Instead of staying together
It's past time for me to go.
I was tired of being lonely
And you thought I had no clue
That I'm not your one and only
For her one and only is you.
I'm sorry it had to end this way
But now we'll both be free
And until my dying day
I always did love you. Love, Me.'
Maybe one day I won't be lonely
Maybe I'll find another one and only
Who'll know how to be faithful and true
And make me his one and only, too...
I'm on my way now...
on my own...
I've gotta do this...
gotta go...
gotta go...
Wondering how to make life better
Daydreaming of places far away
Wishing someone would come save her...
How did I end up so lonely?
He promised I'd be his one and only

If I Were In Your Shoes
She’d been watching him all night
And though the two had never met
He was watching her too, alright
She knew he was hers to get
Knowing neither were very sober
She grabbed a beer on her way
And as she walked on over
She was getting the courage to say
If I were in your shoes
I would’ve walked on over to me
Because I think I might just be your type
And I might be willing to see
If I were in your shoes
I’d probably now lead me off to dance
And maybe see where this is going
And give this thing a chance
The bar was calling last round
He said “Looks like I might be your ride…
Your buddies are nowhere to be found,
Guess you’re leaving with me tonight.”
She smiled and got into his car
And drove out to his place
While looking out at all the stars
On his porch he turned to her to say
“If I were in your shoes
I would come on over to me
Cause I, too, think I’m your type
And I’d be willing to see
(and) If I were in your shoes
I’d have another dance
With me right here, right now
And give this thing a chance.”
After a year or more of dating
He knew there’d come a day
He’d finally get tired of waiting
When he’d be dying to say
“I love you now and always will
And if you say yes, I’ll do my part
To forever keep my deal
And love you with all my heart.”
After they said “I do”
And cut the wedding cake
She walked over to the band
And grabbed the mic to say
“If I were in your shoes
I’d walk over here to me
Cause now I am your wife
And I want the world to see
I’m out of these shoes
And I’m ready to dance
With you, right here, right now
And give this thing a chance.”
Little Things
Every morning when he heads out
He leaves them with a kiss
And though they sleep right through it
He never wants to miss...
The little things that may not matter
Or stuff that don't seem like a lot
But it all means the world to him
'Cause his girls are all he's got
He hurries home from work each day
And rushes to carpool line
And waits on his girls to walk out
And realizes soon in time...
(that) These little things may not matter
Or this stuff that don't seem like a lot
Will always mean the world to him
'Cause his girls are all he's got
As the girls spend more time with friends
His wife tells him 'It's ok -
though they're growing up way too fast
your little girls they'll always stay.'
She reminds him little things may not matter
And the stuff don't seem like a lot
But the girls will always love him
'Cause his girls are all he's got
The girls leave home one by one
and marry eventually
And as they raise their families
He hopes that they will see...
(that) The little things will always matter
When 'stuff' don't mean a lot
And you have to be the world to them
And love with all you got.
My Baby and Me
My baby and me, we’ve had our rounds
And despite the warnings from all over town
I know she’s the one for me in this life
I know she’s the one I want on this ride –
Even though she’s hotter than a $2 pistol,
Faster than a New York minute,
Crazier than a Betsy bug
I’m always gonna defend it.
Cause she can be sweeter than granny’s iced tea
And as gentle as a lamb
It’s all of her many qualities
That makes me who I am.
Some days I wonder if we’ll last another minute
When she’s having a fit and dragging me down in it
But I know she’s the one who’ll always stand by me
I know she’s the one who loves me endlessly –
Every night when we begin to settle in
And the sun sets on the farm
I know no matter how crazy the day unfolded
That she’ll be right here in my arms…
Even when she’s meaner than a junkyard dog
And madder than a wet hen
Cantankerous as a barnyard mule
I take it as she dishes it again and again
Cause she’s prettier than any picture
And lovelier than any summer’s day
And the ways that she shows me she loves me
Is why I’ll always stay…
Some days I wonder if we’ll last another minute
When she’s having a fit and dragging me down in it
But I know she’s the one who’ll always stand by me
I know she’s the one who loves me endlessly –
