Little Things
Every morning when he heads out
He leaves them with a kiss
And though they sleep right through it
He never wants to miss...
The little things that may not matter
Or stuff that don't seem like a lot
But it all means the world to him
'Cause his girls are all he's got
He hurries home from work each day
And rushes to carpool line
And waits on his girls to walk out
And realizes soon in time...
(that) These little things may not matter
Or this stuff that don't seem like a lot
Will always mean the world to him
'Cause his girls are all he's got
As the girls spend more time with friends
His wife tells him 'It's ok -
though they're growing up way too fast
your little girls they'll always stay.'
She reminds him little things may not matter
And the stuff don't seem like a lot
But the girls will always love him
'Cause his girls are all he's got
The girls leave home one by one
and marry eventually
And as they raise their families
He hopes that they will see...
(that) The little things will always matter
When 'stuff' don't mean a lot
And you have to be the world to them
And love with all you got.
